MJ Ultra live at Seco

Last night (Sunday February 24th) my band MJ Ultra played live at Seco Bar in Shibuya. We were part 1 of a 3 band assault on aural sensibilities. We kicked off the night with a 40 minute set. We played the same songs as our last 2 shows and, apart from a few mistakes on my part (due in some part to nerves), we played well.

The set list was:
Come together (Intro)
Fall to Sky
Goddess Temple
Birthday
Perfect Sunrise
Smooth Strings
Prism Cell
Metroland
La Humanity

On a personal note there were 2 things that really pleased me about last night. The first thing that we were able to play my video installation on not 1, not 2 but 5 huge screens in the venue. That meant that for the first time people could really see the full MJ Ultra image. In addition to this we also dressed for the evening in shirts and ties (I will post pictures as they become available) and we looked pretty sharp. So all in all it was a cool climax to the last 6 months of live shows and rehearsing. We're going to start moving forward now with a bit more focus, so stay tuned for future developments.

The second thing that really pleased me was that we played with Kuchi and Coppe. Members of both bands are personal friends and it was nice to get us all on the same bill, as we had promised to do so for a while now. Let's hope we get more chances to play with each other again in the future.

Below is a picture of me before the show. It's not great but you can see that I look like someone out of My Chemical Romance. Not sure if that's a good thing or not!
